Valista® Strengthens Senior Team with Appointment of New Country Manager in Japan

DUBLIN, IRELAND and TOKYO, JAPAN— May 28, 2007 – Valista (www.valista.com), the leading provider of merchandizing, payments and settlement solutions accelerating and automating digital commerce, today announced the appointment of industry veteran, Yutaka Nozawa, as Country Manager for Valista in Japan. Mr. Nozawa brings more than 19 years of experience and knowledge in the Japanese telecommunications and IT industry and will be responsible for growing Valista’s presence in the Japanese market. In this role, he will take responsibility for developing and executing plans that help Valista achieve its growth objectives in Japan. Two key elements of the plan centre around Japan's integrator channel partnerships and extending the company's support to new and existing customers such as NTT DoCoMo and Taito Corporation.

Mr. Nozawa’s career began as a System Engineer for one of the largest System Integrators in Japan – NTT Data, followed by a Pre-sales Engineering position at Digital Equipment Corp. He then moved into a Sales & Marketing role and has succeeded in introducing packaged software for billing to the Japanese market in senior positions with Lucent Technologies in Japan. More recently, he was in charge of IT strategy, planning & architecture for the three telecoms bodies of Softbank Group. He has a strong relationship with IT companies, Consulting Firms, hardware and software vendors.

Based in Valista’s Tokyo office, Mr. Nozawa will be responsible for building the Japanese team to address the growing market opportunity among mobile, broadband, cable operators, media and entertainment companies. Mr. Nozawa holds a Bachelor of Science & Technology from Keio University and is one of the Founders of JT4T (Java Technologies for Telco Initiative).
