Three Quarters of Global Respondents would Choose Managed Payment Service for their Off-Deck Content Business
Maintaining Core Focus Top Reason for Choosing Managed Payment Service
DUBLIN, IRELAND and and SAN MATEO, Calif. – September 12th, 2007 – Valista, the leading provider of merchandizing, payments and settlement solutions accelerating and automating digital commerce, today announced the results of a global survey on the topics of off-deck content and managed payments services.
The survey indicated that 79% of participants considered off-deck content as a means to generate new revenue and increase ARPU. Furthermore, 75% would consider using a managed payments service for their company’s off-deck mobile content offerings.
The most important reason to use a managed payments service varied, with 32% stating the main reason was to maintain core focus followed closely by 29% utilizing a managed payments service to reduce costs. For 26% of respondents, the most important reason was to utilize the variety of payment options available through a managed payment service, while 13% said the ability to utilize another company’s payment expertise was most important. Managed service adoption drivers varied based on regional preferences, with participants from Europe and Asia indicating core focus and cost reduction as key reasons for choosing a managed payment service. In contrast, North American respondents stated the need for variety of payment offerings and payment expertise as the main motives for using a managed payment service; a possible confirmation of the more recent growth of the off-deck market in North America.

The survey was conducted through an online survey hosted by Valista in which 100 global participants were polled.
