Aepona Launches Indian Developer Partner Program

Program launched at Value-Added Services Seminar for Indian Software Developers and Telecom Operators Hosted by Aepona in New Delhi
New Delhi, India, 27th September 2007 - Aepona, a global provider of telecoms software products and services headquartered in Belfast, United Kingdom, that recently merged with Appium, a leading technology vendor offering Telecom Application Server and Service Creation Environment products based in Malmö, Sweden, today announced the launch of its Indian developer partner program, aimed at encouraging Indian software developers to create new innovative telecoms services using the market-leading Aepona technology.
Aepona began operations in India in September 2006, and since that time has gained considerable market traction for its solutions, including a contract award with one of the country’s leading telecommunications operators. The new technology that the company gained through its merger with Appium makes it much easier for application developers to create exciting new telecommunications services using Aepona’s platform. These services can then be offered to telecoms operators, both in India and abroad, as part of an end-to-end solution.
“India is an extremely important market for Aepona as it is one of the fastest-growing telecommunications markets in the world”, said Michael Crossey, Aepona’s Vice President of Marketing. “However, of equal importance to Aepona is the fact that India is renowned globally for world-class software development. There is a large and vibrant community of highly-skilled software developers throughout the country that is creating new applications and services that enable telecom operators to realize new revenue sources and enhance customer loyalty. Aepona’s technology allows these applications to be created in a common, standards-based manner, meaning that they can deployed across different types of network, for example fixed and mobile networks or circuit-switched and IP networks, without having to be re-written for each situation. The aim of our Developer Partner Program is to reach out to these developers and provide them with the resources, tools and support that they need to create compelling new services for our existing and prospective customers.”
Aepona formally launched the Developer Partner Program at an event held in the ITC Maurya, New Delhi on 26th September. The event, entitled the Aepona Value Added Services Seminar, was attended by representatives from the local software community and several of Aepona’s existing partners, as well as senior representatives from telecommunications operators.
