Many operators recognise that opening their networks to Web and Enterprise application developers will help to stimulate innovation, allow them to exploit their network assets in more imaginative ways, and to ultimately realise a new 2-sided business model - generating revenues from many hundreds and even thousands of 3rd party applications as well as their traditional mass-market voice, messaging and connectivity services.
