Role:Company Accountant & Business Analyst

Reporting to:Financial Controller

Location: Belfast

Overview:

The role will offer the right candidate the opportunity to play a key role in the finance team, quickly having full accounting responsibility for a large part of the Group. The role will require the candidate to work closely with business unit leaders to provide up to the minute performance information to enable solid financial planning in an environment of rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Monthly management reporting, planning and variance analysis
  • Cashflow Forecasting
  • Provide accurate & detailed forecasting of financial information with detailed commentary. Involves liaising between finance and other functions within the business to ensure timely and accurate reporting of forecast data
  • Manage monthly and quarterly information for designated business units
  • Responsible for the year-end financials of the operating company
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist management in special projects as required

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

  • Finalist/recently qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA / ICAI
  • 4 years experience in a busy accounts office with strong financial accounting/analysis experience
  • Experience of producing management accounts/multicurrency to completion
  • Commercially aware
  • Proven ability to work with large volumes of complex data, demonstrating attention to detail, high quality and accuracy
  • Systems orientated with an ability to implement and operate effective controls
  • Ability to enhance and maintain processes for collecting and reporting data
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to manage people
  • Highly motivated
  • Work to a high standard
  • Has initiative to work on own & as part of a team
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Ability to take responsibility
  • Tenacious investigative skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • 2 years post-qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA/ICAI) experience in a commercial environment
  • 6 years experience in a busy accounts office with strong financial accounting/analysis experience
